The New River and Sissy!!!

The past couple of weeks has been just beau-ti-ful around here and my sweet husband treated me to a visit to see my Sissy!

This is my sis and young un'. That's the New River Bridge in the back ground. It is a real engineering feat but I won't get into that today.

This is my hubby-I think he was a happy as me to get out in beautiful WV. We use to travel all over WV and camp, but we have my mom living with us now and she isn't able to camp so we have put that part of our life on hold for a while.

Sissy was so happy to see us. She works for a rafting co. and this is getting ready to be a really busy time for her. This is starting of the Gorge season where the white water is some of the best in the world right here in WV...can you believe it?It's true!
Even G Ma had a good day. The country is really beautiful in this area and we appreciated every moment we were there.

Have a great day everyone and blessings to all.P

Halloweenie Apron

So I thought I would share the apron I made for the apron swap over at Mary Janes Farms.

The bottom plaid part is homespun and the rest is calico.

I have to admit this was the first time I did machine applique but am rather pleased how it came out

Kathy told me she liked it and that is all that really matters to me.

I love this apron pattern and am planning on making myself some off of it.

Here is a really ca-ute apron I recieved from Kathy over at Mary Janes Farmgirl Connection.Isn't it the most beautiful apron ever? I love it !There was this really cute mug in with it as well.Such a sweet girl to do this with me. The apron is reversible and she even sent this overlay with trick or treat "punkins" on it...So cute!!!

This side is gold. It also has these really big pockets which I love.

This side has leaves on it.

Fall pinkeep

So over at MaryJaneFarms farmgirl connection we are having a pinkeep swap. The only requirements were fall themed. Here is the one that I made for my swap partner. It is made out of cotton and lace. For the ribs of the pumpkin I used twine to sorta give it an earthy feel. The leaves and tendrils of the pumpkin are felt and fleece.I love how mixing the different textures gave it a cool modern feel to a rather old fashioned pattern.

My darling hubby turned the spindle it sits on by himself and I painted and stained it.I added the ribbon to give it even more flair.

I must admit I rather like how it came out...hope my partner likes it too!!!

Duh.....

Well, I have done it again. If you want to read the story below....go down three entries and read up. Someday, I will learn how to do what I want.lol
Suddenly it was time to take a peek......

oh my goodness!!! Strawberry ice-cream...YUM-MO!

Daddy got the first taste and then we let Grandma have the second and then we all had a bowl full or two.

I hope it's that hot again real soon.

Blessings to all. P

We cranked and cranked some more...I should be saying they cranked some more as I only took a couple of turns....
it was so hot and the ice cream freezer was so cold....

and the sidewalk got so wet...

and when we got near the freezer the temp just seemed to go down a few degrees...

we even managed a few smiles along the way....

and then the turning got harder and we really had to struggle....
